A “test” is a message sent to the list that has no purpose other than to test whether the list or an email address is working. Test posts often include simply the word “test” in the subject and/or the body of the message.
If you must test to see if the list is working for you, then please post something that may be of possible interest to others (which will be your test in disguise).
A link, an opinion, some feedback, a review, anything of some possible value other than “test”.
All “tests” do is create noise. At least if you post a link or something else, it may actually be of interest and you’ll get your answer whether the list is working or not.
The other solution is to simply log in to the online archives and confirm that you have all the latest messages.
